The Sunshine Farm

The Sunshine Farm is a fourth-generation family farm located on the south shore of lake Chelan.  We began as a Red Delicious apple orchard, but over the last decade have diversified into a range of new crops and farm activities.

We now have dozens of varieties of tree fruit, an organic market garden and CSA program, goats and llamas, nine acres of wine grapes, and a landmark winery, Tunnel Hill, housed in the historic stone cottage on the property.  We offer some of the best U-pick in the area and a fully stocked roadside Farm Market.  There are events and activities happening on the farm all season long.

Our efforts to preserve local agriculture take place on 94 acres of prime development land.  An innovative mixed-used development project is in the works to ease these development pressures while preserving over half the farm in productive acreage.  The development will include an equity-limited cohousing neighborhood designed to provide affordable home ownership to farm partners and core employees.  The plan also includes the development of a learning center, The Sunshine Institute of Culture and Agriculture, on the farm.
